Adrian, MI – Scams in the Lenawee County community are increasing, according to Region 2 Area Agency on Aging.
Here are some tips you can use to determine if someone is trying to scam you:
- If you are contacted to pay any fees for a friend or family member who is reported to be in trouble, reach out to that individual or another family member before paying any amount.
- No law enforcement agents will come to your home or meet you to pick up money.
- Bank numbers, Social Security numbers, and other personal information should not be offered to anyone or any supposed agency that calls you.
So, if you or someone you know fears they may have been a victim of a scam, reach out to your
local law enforcement.
