Adrian, MI – The Lenawee County Martin Luther King Jr. Committee has decided to cancel this year’s in-person event and dinner scheduled for later this month.
In a release sent to WLEN News Thursday, the group cited rising local COVID-19 case numbers as the reason for dropping the in-person aspect on January 17th.
In the coming weeks, the committee will be compiling a video highlighting scholarship recipients and award winners in lieu of their traditional event.
They will also provide a full refund for the cost of tickets for this year’s dinner. If you would like a refund, contact Andre’a Benard at ladybenard@sbcglobal.net or Deanne Henagan at henagan@comcast.net by February 1st and they will process it in a timely manner.
If you don’t want money back, they will apply your payment as a donation toward the scholarship fund for this year’s recipients.
