JACKSON, MI — A shooting outside a Jackson pizza restaurant Monday night left one man injured. According to MLive.com, Jackson Police Department officers were dispatched to the Little Caesars restaurant on East Michigan Ave., for reported shooting at about 7 p.m.

Jackson Police and Fire Services Director Elmer Hitt said officers arrived to find an 18-year-old Jackson man who had been shot in the abdomen.  Hitt said that the victim has been hospitalized, and the gunshot wound was not life-threatening.

Hitt said that another 18-year-old man, a friend of the victim, was at the scene when police arrived.
According to video surveillance and witness statements, police believe the shooting resulted from an argument between the victim and two other men who had entered the Little Caesars.

Hitt said that after arguing inside the restaurant, all four left the building to continue arguing in the parking lot. At one point the group moved away from the view of surveillance cameras, which is when the shooting took place.  The two suspects then fled the scene.

According to MLive.com, Hitt further stated that the victim and his friend told police they did not know who the suspects are. An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
