
Addison, MI – It was reported that there was a gun on a student at the secondary level at Addison Community Schools Thursday morning.
A post on the school’s social media account said that police were contacted immediately and the campus was placed in a hard lockdown.
The situation was resolved on Thursday, and all students and staff were reported as safe.
This was released by the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office Friday morning: “Deputies from the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office responded to Addison Community Schools to investigate a student who was carrying a weapon in the school and that Addison Schools are on lock down. While in route, Deputies were advised that the student is currently in the office and being cooperative with school staff and that a concealed loaded handgun had been secured by the staff. Sheriff’s Deputies determined that the 17-year-old male student did not brandish the firearm nor were specific verbal threats made.”
