Area Police Department to Receive Grant Funding

Jackson, MI – The Jackson Police Department, Eaton County, and Monroe County will receive grants from The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program.

Congressman Tim Walberg announced that these grants allow states and units of local government to support a broad range of activities to prevent and control crime based on local needs and conditions.

Through the Program, Jackson Police Department will receive nearly $48,000, Eaton County will receive almost $12,000, and Monroe County will receive just over $11,000. A total of over $71,000 will be awarded across Michigan’s 7th Congressional District.

Grant funds will be used for equipment in Jackson, the Safe Monroe County 2021 program, and enhanced enforcement and education in Eaton County.
