Adrian, MI – The Adrian Public Schools Board of Education accepted the retirement of its Superintendent Bob Behnke at the board meeting Monday night.
Starting his career in education in 1996, he worked his way up the ranks from substitute teacher, middle school social studies teacher, high school assistant principal, high school principal, assistant superintendent for curriculum, and superintendent
Behnke and his husband plan to continue calling Adrian home and he is looking forward to a new list of house and yard projects in the spring as well as a full slate of travel and camping trips next summer.
He will be working with the Board of Education to start the superintendent search process so a replacement can be named.
Behnke has served the District as superintendent for 8 years, and his retirement will be effective March 31st of 2022.
