Hudson, MI – A massive fire did heavy damage to a large, not-in-use, industrial building in the City of Hudson Sunday afternoon.

Over 50 firefighters responded to the scene just before 3pm, according to Hudson Fire Chief Jerry Tanner.

Crews from Hudson, Morenci, Addison, Clayton, Adrian City, Jefferson Township, and Waldron fought the fire for hours during the hottest part of the day…with temperatures reaching into the mid-80’s.

The fire completely destroyed the roof of the structure, and portions of two walls collapsed under the pressure and heat. There was no one inside the building at the time, and no firefighters were injured.

Chief Tanner told WLEN News that there was no electricity in the building, and that the cause of the fire is under investigation.
