Monroe, MI – A 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with a shooting in Monroe County.
The incident…which did not result in injuries… took place on September 7th at the Newport Woods apartment complex in Newport.
In coordination with Detectives from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the United States Marshall’s Service apprehended the shooting suspect in Gibraltar. The suspect was identified as Neal Smith V, from Newport.
He has been arraigned on seven counts, including: assault with a dangerous weapon and firearms-discharge in or at a building.
The case remains under investigation.
