18-Year-Old Adrian Man Has Died from Injuries Sustained in Crash; Police Release Details

Adrian, MI – The 18-year-old Adrian High School student who was hit by a car last week has died.

Adrian Police Department responded to a call of a car/pedestrian crash at the intersection of South Main and Beecher on Thursday night.

Police determined that a vehicle, northbound on Main, struck a pedestrian within the cross walk at Beecher.

The driver of the vehicle, a 39 year old Ypsilanti resident, remained at the scene and called 911 for assistance after the crash.

The teen was taken via ambulance to Hickman Hospital, with critical injuries. He passed away at ProMedica Toledo Hospital Monday morning.

Adrian High School confirmed his passing in a social media post, and did not release his name.

As a result of preliminary investigation, alcohol or drugs are not expected to have contributed to the fatal crash.

The crash is under investigation by Adrian Police Department, with assistance from the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Department. Adrian Fire Department, Adrian Township Police Department, and Raisin Township Police Department assisted at the scene.
