Monroe, MI – Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough reported an armed robbery on South Monroe Street in Monroe Township early Saturday morning.
At approximately 3:30am in the 1100 block, sheriff’s deputies responded to the call. The victim, a 43- year old male, was asleep in his vehicle when he was awakened by a man pounding on the car window. The victim exited his vehicle and was confronted by three males. Two of the men displayed handguns and demanded the victim’s wallet.
After robbing the victim of his money, the three suspects fled westbound on foot, behind the Kroger Plaza. The victim was not injured during the robbery. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
