Adrian, MI – Work continues on the Old Lenawee County Courthouse, and the target completion date is still August 31st of this year.

Administrator Marty Marshall said in a progress update in the County Newsletter that the second floor is the furthest along, with most surfaces painted and stained. The new hardwood floor is installed in the old courtroom and the second floor hallway and the office floors are being prepared for carpet.

Marshall also said that counter tops and trim finishes are being completed on the main floor. The basement hit a slight snag when it was determined that a new sanitary line needed to be installed.

Some of the improvements yet to come are the stained glass dome for the rotunda, the audio/visual system for the Commission Chambers, and repair of the tile floor on the main level.

When the building is completed and open again, there will be an open house for everyone to come and enjoy the restored historic courthouse.
