Lenawee County Commissioners to Vote on Vaccine Status Anti-Discrimination Resolution

lenawee-county

Adrian, MI – The Lenawee County Board of Commissioners will vote on a resolution at their meeting on Wednesday that stands against vaccine status discrimination within the county.

The resolution says, in part, that they do not support or endorse the introduction or passage of vaccine passport legislation on the state or national level, and strongly urge local representatives to stand against any form of discrimination that would infringe upon the basic rights and liberties of Lenawee County citizens.

The resolution goes on to say that the Board does not support decisions made by businesses, restaurants, organizations, sporting events, places of employment, or any other association to allow access based on vaccination status.

If passed at the Commission’s virtual meeting on Wednesday at 1:30pm, a copy of the resolution will be sent to Governor Gretchen Whitmer, State Senator Dale Zorn, State Representatives Bronna Kahle and Sarah Lightner, the Michigan Senate, the Michigan House of Representatives, Michigan Association of Counties; and to the Clerk of each County in the State of Michigan.
