Adrian, MI – The Adrian District Library has announced the 2021 “Tales and Tails” Summer Reading Challenge.
The challenge will run from now through August 7, and will combine reading challenges along with special events and activities for a variety of ages.
It is designed to help young readers from losing critical literacy skills by encouraging a daily reading habit throughout the summer. Often referred to as ‘summer slide,’ the regression of literacy skills places children at a learning disadvantage once school resumes at the summer’s conclusion. Adults are encouraged to participate as well since reading has a myriad of benefits and it also models a positive behavior for younger readers.
Participants can register or access an existing account online at adrian.beanstack.org or with Beanstack’s mobile app.
No library card is necessary to participate.
