
Adrian, MI – The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy have announced 18 grants totaling $600,000 for projects that will support watershed organizations with conservation and educational efforts… with one of them being in Lenawee County.
The River Raisin Watershed Council, in Adrian, was awarded $39,984. Other organizations include: Calvin University, Flint River Watershed Coalition, Great Lakes Water Authority, and Washtenaw County Water Resources.
Grants were limited to $40,000 per applicant and the projects must be put into action within a year of receiving the grants.
The grants are issued to help local stakeholders reduce pollution and excess runoff by supporting efforts to develop and launch watershed management plans.
