Adrian, MI – Pursuant to section 311 of Michigan’s Election Law, MCL 168.311(1), the Lenawee Intermediate School District (LISD) Board of Education is accepting written notice from qualified and registered electors of Tecumseh Public Schools wishing to be appointed to serve on the Tecumseh Public Schools Board of Education.
Written notice and required materials must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. (EST) on Friday, April 16, 2021, to the LISD Board of Education, Attn: Mark Haag, Superintendent, 4107 N. Adrian Highway, Adrian, Michigan 49221, or via email to Mark.Haag@lisd.us.
Applicants must submit the following materials to be considered for appointment:
- Written notice of 500 words or less describing the applicant’s interest in and qualifications for serving on the Tecumseh Public Schools Board of Education;
- A current resume or curriculum vita;
- Proof of current residency within the Tecumseh Public Schools district boundaries (please provide photocopies of at least two of the following: driver’s license or state identification card; a utility bill issued within the last 90 days; mortgage, lease or rental agreement); and
- Proof that the applicant is a current registered voter in the Tecumseh Public Schools district.
The LISD Board of Education will review applicant materials received by the LISD and will invite select candidates to interview with the Board. Selected candidates will interview with the Board at a special meeting of the LISD Board of Education scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on April 22, 2021, at the William J. Ross Education Service Center, 4107 N. Adrian Highway, Adrian, Michigan.
The individual appointed by the LISD Board of Education to fill the vacancy on the Tecumseh Public Schools Board of Education shall hold office only until a successor is elected at the next general November election in the manner provided by law. The term would end December 31, 2022.
The LISD Board of Education is responsible for the appointment of a member to Tecumseh Public Schools Board of Education due to Tecumseh Public Schools Board of Education’s failure to properly fill a vacancy on the Tecumseh Public Schools Board of Education within 30 days as is required by section 311 of Michigan Election Law, MCL 168.311.
