
Fairfield Twp., – A 60 year old man driving a motorcycle in Fairfield Township died from his injuries after a collision with a pickup truck.
The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office reported Tuesday that at approximately 12:52pm Deputies responded to a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck at the intersection of Lyons Highway and Packard Road in Fairfield Township.
According to Sheriff’s Deputies, the 1996 Honda motorcycle was traveling southbound on Lyons Highway and failed to stop at the stop sign and struck the side of a 2013 Ford truck who was traveling westbound. The motorcyclist, a 60 year old male from Toledo, Ohio was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, a 69 year old male from Morenci was not injured. There were no other passengers and the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.
The incident remains under investigation by the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Accident Investigation Team. Fairfield Township Fire Department and Madison Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.
