Adrian, MI – With temperatures dropping below zero this week, it is important to keep water pipes in your home from freezing.
Will Sadler, Utilities Director for the City of Adrian, has tips for residents. He told WLEN News that you can:
- Use pipe insulation or electric heat tape on the pipes.
- Make sure the area of the house where the pipes are located has some heat — enough to keep it above 32 degrees.
- You may need to leave interior doors (and cabinet doors) open to allow heat to spread into these areas
- As a last resort, leave a faucet open on a drip to keep water moving through the pipe.
