
Blissfield, MI – The substitute teacher working at Blissfield Middle School last week that was arrested for public intoxication has been identified.
Blissfield Village Police and Fire Departments responded to a call about Benjamin Woerner at around 1:30pm, who was said to be in an altered state of consciousness.
Woerner was transported to the Lenawee County Jail for lodging on Thursday, and given a trespass warning not to return to school property.
The Blissfield Village Police Department says that an investigation is continuing into statements that were allegedly made by the suspect while he was in the classroom with the students.
The results of the investigation will be turned over to the Lenawee County Prosecutor’s Office for their review and determination as to any additional charges.
