Blissfield, MI – A substitute teacher at Blissfield Middle School was arrested Thursday afternoon for disorderly conduct-public intoxication while at work.

The Blissfield Village Police Department reported that at approximately 1:30pm in afternoon, officers monitored a medical run to BMS on a report of a male subject with an altered state of consciousness.

The officers decided to respond to the school to assist fire personnel.

A subsequent investigation determined that the male subject, who was not identified on Thursday by police, was intoxicated. He was transported to the Lenawee County Jail for lodging, and given a trespass warning not to return to school property.

The Blissfield Village Police Department says that an investigation is continuing into statements that were allegedly made by the suspect while he was in the classroom with the students.

The results of the investigation will be turned over to the Lenawee County Prosecutor’s Office for their review and determination as to any additional charges.
