Adrian, MI – This month, more than 27,000 bottles of hand sanitizer were donated to Lenawee County Schools.

The hand sanitizer was donated by Minnesota-based Ecolab, whose mission is to provide clean water, safe food, healthy environments, and abundant energy to its customers and communities. The Lenawee Intermediate School District accepted the donation.

LISD Superintendent Mark Haag noted that the sanitizer will not only be used in classrooms and school buildings, but will be available for students and families who may have a need at home.

The donation was arranged by Jason Terakedis, an Onsted Community Schools Board of Education member and assistant vice president for sales and corporate accounts at NALCO Water- an Ecolab Company.

The donation was also made possible thanks to David Van Brunt, owner of Thee Old Mill, LLC in Adrian. Van Brunt, another Onsted Community Schools Board of Education member, provided warehouse space to store the pallets of sanitizer while they are sorted and distributed.

The LISD plans to distribute the sanitizer to every local and private school district in Lenawee County based on enrollment.
