
Adrian, MI – There were several things on the ballot for the 2020 General Election that every Lenawee County resident had an opportunity to vote for.
Even though most of the races were uncontested, let’s break-down the results:
Representative in State Legislature 57th District- Incumbent Republican Bronna Kahle defeated challenger Will Garcia, a Democrat, by a final vote of 32,091 to 16,247.
Representative in Congress 7th District- Incumbent Republican Congressman Tim Walberg took down his Democratic opponent Gretchen Driskell 32,070 to 20,433 (That is the Lenawee County vote only. Walberg did retain his seat)
Lenawee County Drain Commissioner- Incumbent Republican Jenny Escott defeated Democratic challenger Scott Smith at the ballot box, 30,817 to 18,871.
The Lenawee County Sheriff’s race was uncontested, and won by Republican Troy Bevier with 38,430 votes.
The Clerk’s position in Lenawee County was also up for a vote, but it too was uncontested. Incumbent Republican Roxann Holloway won with 38,503 votes.
The Lenawee County Treasurer, Register of Deeds, Road Commissioner, Surveyor, and Prosecutor were also uncontested races. Republican Erin Van Dkye (37,743 votes) was elected to the Treasurer position. Carolyn Bater, a Republican, won the Register of Deeds seat with 37,803 votes. The County Road Commissioner seat was won by Republican Mike Slusarski with 37,941 votes. Republican Kevin Pickford (37,556 votes) won the County Surveyor seat. Republican R. Burke Castleberry, Jr. won his re-election with 37,891 votes.
There were three Lenawee County Proposals on the ballot:
Lenawee County Tax Limitation Proposal: Approved 30,348-13,566
Lenawee County dispatch 911 Proposal: Approved 32,488-13,375
Lenawee County Senior Citizen Millage Proposal: Approved 29,888-15,347
