High-Speed Chase Leads to Crash South of Tecumseh

Tecumseh, MI – A high speed chase that was initiated in the City of Tecumseh ended with a stolen vehicle crashing into a group of trees off of Raisin Center Highway.

The Tecumseh Police Department reported that on Friday, at approximately 4:30pm, they were dispatched to the area of South Maumee and Cummins Street for a domestic dispute which involved a carjacking.

The caller stated that her ex-boyfriend, a 45 year old male from Adrian, had pushed her out of her vehicle and drove off. The stolen vehicle was observed southbound on South Evans Street, approaching Russell Road. The officer did a U-turn and once the suspect observed this, he proceeded through the red light at Evans and Russell.

After a brief chase, the suspect vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a group of trees just south of Gady Road. The suspect was treated on scene by the Raisin Township fire department before being transferred by air ambulance to St. Vincent’s hospital in Toledo, with non-life threatening injuries.
