
Sand Creek, MI – An official at a local high school football game collapsed on the field, and later passed away.
78 year old Pastor Jerry Hoffman, of Morenci, collapsed at the Sand Creek and Pittsford first-round playoff game Friday night. He was taken off the field and rushed to ProMedica Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital by Fairfield Township medical personnel on the scene. He would later pass away.
Jerry Hoffman was born in Wauseon, Ohio and attended school near Swanton.
Throughout his life, Jerry held many jobs – most recently as Pastor of Canandaigua Community Church. The obituary on the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home website noted that he was a devout Christian and that he also led the music at Morenci Bible Fellowship where he also served as an overseer.
Funeral services for Jerry will be held on Friday, November 6th at Morenci Bible Fellowship Church. The family will receive family and friends for visitation at the church on Thursday, November 5th from 4p.m. until 7p.m., and again on Friday from 10a.m. until time of service.
