Jackson, MI – Henry Ford Health System raised the hourly compensation of full-time, part-time and contingent team members to a rate of $15 per hour, among the first healthcare systems in Michigan to do so.
The increase includes more than 3,000 frontline team members not currently earning at least $15 per hour.
Team members in more than 100 benefits eligible job descriptions received the increase, commonly referred to as a ‘living wage.’
Expected to cost the health system approximately $6 million annually, the wage adjustment for frontline workers is just one component of a multi-phase 2020-2021 compensation plan that will cascade to team members, including a general increase also planned for the fourth quarter of 2020, as well as additional market adjustments for other key positions.
