
Hudson, MI – The City of Hudson will do a Fall Rubbish Pick-up this Saturday. All items for general pick-up must be at the street by 7:00 a.m. on October 17th.
Items that will not be picked up include:
1. No small loose items. Must be a bulk item or in a bag or box/container for collection. Boxes must weigh less than 50 lbs to be serviced.
2. Large Plastic Drums/Burn Barrels
3. Concrete
4. Large pieces of Metal
5. Yard Waste
6. Liquid Waste or Hazardous Waste
7. Tires
8. Tires on Rims
9. Non-latex Paints & Varnishes
10. Motor Oil & Solvents
11. Batteries
12. Regulated Medical Wastes
13. Construction Materials
14. Appliances that contain Freon, such as Refrigerators & Air Conditioners. *These items can be accepted if the Freon is removed and the appliance is tagged by a licensed facility that the Freon is removed.
15. Any Additional items that are listed by the Michigan DEQ as banned from Michigan Landfills.
Acceptable Items:
1. All bagged and containerized municipal solid waste
2. Bags and containers must weigh less than 50 lbs
3. Larger items such as: Furniture, mattresses, box springs, toys, bicycles, appliances*, home fixtures, and any other items as long as they are considered non-hazardous and can be safely lifted by two people.
4. Latex Paints – Paint must be dried up in containers. (used sawdust, kitty litter or just leave the paint can open for a few days to dry out the contents. The contents must be solid and dry to be taken.)
5. We are not allowed to unload vehicles or trailers. Check with the City Office to see if there is a limit to how much material can be put out.
Please Remember: anything placed at the curb after your street has been picked up, the crews will not return to that particular street, and items should be removed from the curbside by 7:00 a.m. the following morning. Refuse Pick-Up is for City of Hudson residents only. A fine will be charge if rubbish from outside of the City is found being brought into the City. If you are cleaning out a house after someone has moved out, you will need to get a dumpster on your own.
