Deerfield Twp., MI – The Lenawee County Carroll Road Solar project held a virtual Town Hall meeting Wednesday night at 6:30 pm.
The Carroll Road Solar Farm LLC, would be on more than 1,000 acres of leased land, with much of those parcels coming in Deerfield Township along Carroll Road, County Line Highway, Lipp Highway and Stadler Road.
A portion of the proposed solar farm is to be constructed in Riga Township along the Lipp Highway and Stadler Road boundary.
Those opposed to the project cited issues with glare, noise, and surrounding property values.
People in favor of it highlighted the jobs it will bring to the area, the clean energy it will produce, and incomes for Deerfield and Riga Townships… and Lenawee County.
