Cantaloupe Sold at Meijer Stores in Midwest Subject of Voluntary Recall

Grand Rapids, MI – Meijer, in conjunction with Eagle Produce, LLC in Arizona, is announcing a voluntary recall of whole cantaloupe and select cut cantaloupe fruit trays and bowls.

The recall is part of a sampling investigation by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and is due to the potential risk of Salmonella.

It involves whole cantaloupe and select cut cantaloupe fruit trays and bowls in various weights ranging from 6 to 40 ounces sold between September 26th and October 5th at all Meijer stores in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin.

Consumers who have purchased this product should discontinue use immediately and return the product to the nearest Meijer store for a full refund. Consumers with questions regarding this recall should contact Meijer for further direction.
