Madison Twp, MI – A woman from Jonesville died at the scene after her car crossed the centerline and struck a tree off of West Beecher Road in Madison Township early Wednesday morning.
The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office reports that at approximately 3:50am they responded to the fatal crash near Sand Creek Highway.
According to Sheriff’s Deputies, the 38-year-old’s 2009 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling eastbound, crossed over the centerline, went off the north side of the road and struck a tree.
No other vehicles are believed to be involved and it is unknown if alcohol was a factor. The driver did not appear to be wearing a seat belt.
The crash was under investigation as of Wednesday morning.
The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Madison Township Fire Department, and the Tecumseh Police Department.
