School Bus Veers off of Lenawee County Highway into Corn Field

Madison Township, MI – A Sand Creek school bus veered off of Lyons Highway and into a corn field Thursday morning.

Superintendent Steve Laundra, in a press release to WLEN News, said that the bus ended up in a corn field a quarter mile south of the Lyons and Sand Creek Highway intersection.

Laundra said that all eighteen children on the bus, including the driver, avoided serious injury. The bus remained upright throughout the accident. Three students were evaluated by the Madison Township E.M.T. team. One student, who bumped their head, was transported to Bixby Medical Center as a precautionary measure. All parents of the students were notified immediately.
