Adrian, MI – PETA, in a press release sent to WLEN News, is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction on cruelty charges of the person(s) responsible for abusing Brave, an emaciated 10-week-old pit bull mix who was discovered in Adrian’s McFarland Park on July 24th.
Police transferred the dog—who was so weak that he could barely stand or keep his eyes open—to the Lenawee Humane Society, which found wounds around Brave’s mouth indicating that his muzzle had been taped shut. Despite emergency veterinary care, he died.
“This puppy should have been loved and cared for, but instead, someone apparently taped his mouth shut and starved him until he was little more than skin and bones,” says PETA Vice President Colleen O’Brien. “PETA is asking for the public’s help in identifying this dog and holding his abusers responsible for mistreating and abandoning him.”
“There has been an outcry from the community about this case, and the people here want the person held accountable,” Gary Ward of the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office tells PETA. “We encourage anyone who knows anything to come forward.”
