Adrian, MI – A champion of Christian education and a devoted Lenawee County Philanthropist, Mrs Ruth Merillat passed away Wednesday at the age of 99. Mrs. Merillat and her husband Orville founded Merillat Industries in Adrian in 1946 and built it up from a small cabinet shop into an industry leading world-wide cabinet manufacturer.
In the late 1970’s the Merillat’s invested their own time and resources into the foundation of what would become Lenawee Christian Ministries. The family’s philanthropic support has, and continues to positively impact countless local churches & nonprofits.
