Adrian, MI – Because indoor theaters cannot yet operate safely, the Croswell Opera House is planning a series of outdoor events in August and September.

The series includes four concerts, an open mic night, and two nights of drag bingo. All of the events will take place in the courtyard behind the Croswell.

The four concerts are all scheduled for 7 p.m. on Fridays, and the rain date for each one will be Saturday of the same weekend. There is no admission charge and no tickets will be sold, but a donation of $10 to $20 per person is suggested. A cash bar will be available.

Not Fast Enüff, a northwest Ohio pop/rock band, will perform on Aug. 7, playing hits from across several decades. The band’s repertoire covers everything from Adele, Bruno Mars, and Huey Lewis & The News to Motley Crue and Run DMC.

Michael Lackey will headline a concert of classic Broadway hits on Aug. 21. Lackey, a longtime member of the Croswell community, has toured nationally and played on Broadway, and appeared in thousands of performances of “The Phantom of the Opera.”

The greatest rock hits of the 1980s will be the focus on Aug. 28, with Eric Parker, Kyrie Bristle and Keith Holloway leading the Croswell House Band in a concert that will include songs from Journey, Fleetwood Mac, Bon Jovi, Kansas and more.

Frequent Croswell performer Natasha Ricketts will headline a concert that includes some of the latest Broadway hits on Sept. 11.

In addition to these four concerts, two more events will round out the next six weeks.

On Aug. 14 and 15 at 7:30 p.m., the Croswell will present two evenings of drag bingo with Eric Swanson, a Croswell alumnus who is now the artistic director of the Detroit Actor’s Theatre Company. Swanson’s drag persona, Miss Minnie Bouvéè, is well known in the Detroit area. This is the only event in the series for which there will be a cover charge; three rounds of bingo will cost $10. It will be a touch-free event with bingo cards provided electronically; guests will need to have a smartphone or other internet-capable device to play.

On Sept. 4 at 7 p.m., the Croswell will collaborate with Black Lives Matter of Lenawee for an open mic night celebrating diverse voices in art, literature and music. As with the concerts, there is no cover charge, but Black Lives Matter of Lenawee will be accepting donations to fund the group’s future activities. The rain date will be Saturday, Sept. 5.

For all six events, groups will be seated at tables at least six feet apart and attendance will be capped at less than 100 people to comply with state and federal public health guidelines.

Updates, including information about any schedule changes due to weather, will be posted at croswell.org and on the Croswell’s Facebook page.
