Local businesses were forced to make quick decisions on how to continue operating during the recent stay at home order. Some businesses closed or laid off employees, and others were able to shift to online ordering, curbside or delivery services. Shane Waldrop, co-owner (along with his wife, Jenna) of Dynamic Industrial Supply in Adrian, shifted his focus from the normal products he offered – industrial, construction and automotive supplies – to the cleaning and safety equipment local businesses needed to reopen safely.
Waldrop started the business in 2014, with a focus on providing personalized service to customers. As the impacts of COVID-19 began, Dynamic Industrial Supply started offering the supplies local businesses needed for their employees: face shields, disposable masks and gloves, hand sanitizer and disinfectant cleaners. Many of the items are made in Michigan, helping support the local economy.
Dynamic Industrial Supply also began offering take out containers for local restaurants that had closed dine-in service and were operating as carryout only. Waldrop was able to provide a local source for restaurants to order disposable containers, bags, silverware and items needed as services changed.
“I have lived here my whole life and remember watching many businesses pack up shop and move out of the area or close up altogether. One of the main goals when my wife and I started Dynamic was to help as many local businesses as we could from suffering the same fate. You never know if some additional cost savings would help turn a business around,” Shane explained. “I had the same mentality as soon as the pandemic hit. I told Jenna, we have to do something to make sure we can help as many people and businesses as we can to stay safe and stay in business.”
Dynamic Industrial Supply recently moved to 628 Industrial Drive in Adrian, along with their other business, Quality Cleaning. For more information, visit DynamicIndustrialInc.com or call 517.759.3245.
