Adrian, MI – WLEN News spoke with Economic Development Coordinator for the City of Adrian, Chris Miller, following the unanimous decision by the City Commission to eliminate his position.
Miller said that the Commission adding a resolution to the agenda during the meeting to eliminate his position was troublesome for him…
He said that the approved budget fully funded his position, and did not reflect any new positions. Miller also said that he offered to negotiate with the Commission, but they did not accept it.
He told WLEN News that the unanimous vote by the Commission was disappointing, and he thought that there should have been discussion…or a unified message…from the group…
Miller said that he has loved working for the City, and that it was gratifying to hear people talk about the positive things he has done for Adrian. He told WLEN News that addressing blight was a driving factor that led to the elimination of his position, but he worked to reduce blight while with the City…
Miller believes the Commission made the wrong decision…
His position will be eliminated on July 17th.
