Lenawee County, MI – There are occasions when the data on the Lenawee County Health Department website relating to COVID-19 differs from the data on the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services website.

Typically, these discrepancies are minor and usually are due to either out of state cases or cases from another county being assigned to Lenawee County. On June 3rd, the data regarding positive COVID-19 cases that was reported on the Lenawee County Health Department website differed substantially from the data reported on the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services website, 154 and 175 respectively.

The data discrepancy was due to an electronic data transfer error from the laboratory to the State of Michigan. The Lenawee County Health Department has confirmed that the 21 positive cases that  were reported yesterday on the State of Michigan website were due to the data transfer error and do not accurately reflect the number of positive COVID-19 cases in Lenawee County. The Lenawee County Health Department will reported 155 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases Thursday, which is an increase of one from Wednesday.

The LCHD has reported a fifth death from COVID-19. No further information on the death was made available as of this Thursday afternoon.

The Department has also reported that 77% (118) of the confirmed are “discontinued from isolation and improving.” 30 of the 155 cases (19%) are monitoring at home.

Two people with confirmed cases of COVID-19 were in the hospital as of Thursday afternoon.
