Adrian, MI – The Lenawee County Recycling Center re-opened this morning. To say people were ready to clean recyclables out of their garages, sheds, and homes would be an understatement…

Cars were lined up on Race St. (nearly to W. Maumee St) in Adrian well before the facility opened at 7am.

The County closed the Recycling Center earlier this year due to concerns over COVID-19.

With the re-opening, there are new hours of operation, and a maintenance person will be on hand to ensure social distancing is being observed and to ensure compactors are not jammed.

The hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 7am to 6pm. The recycling center will be closed on weekends and holidays through the end of the month.

At that time, the Lenawee County Solid Waste Department will re-evaluate the operation and determine how to proceed.
