April 28th COVID-19 Update: Lenawee Confirmed Cases Near 90; Statewide Totals Over 39k

ADRIAN, MI – The Lenawee County Health Department reported Tuesday morning that there has been an increase in the current number of confirmed cases of COVID-19… moving from 84 to 88.

Reporting on the department’s website says that there are 47 men and 41 women currently infected. Hospitalizations have dropped from five to two since Monday. 45 individuals were monitoring at home, and 40 have been discontinued from isolation and are improving.

The county also reported its first confirmed death from COVID-19 Monday afternoon.

The Lenawee County Health Department also said that as of Tuesday morning, 18 people were reported as “Probable COVID-19 Cases”. 12 of them are monitoring at home and 6 were discontinued from isolation and are improving.

Probable cases are those who do not have a positive laboratory confirmed test result, but have symptoms consistent with COVID-19, and can be linked to a known case or a place with known transmission.

These numbers do not include reporting from the prison.

Michigan health officials said on Tuesday that the state has recorded 160 more deaths from the disease caused by the coronavirus, bringing the state’s total to 3,567.

State data showed that the number of new cases was 1,052 … raising the state’s total to 39,262.
