The City of Tecumseh and Village of Onsted Public Utilities Departments are flushing fire hydrants, water mains and turning water valves.

Tecumseh crews will begin flushing on the north side of the City and move southward. They will only be working from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday, now through May 7th.

Fire hydrants will be flushed throughout the Village of Onsted now, and continue for two weeks, or until completed.

During, or shortly after, this time you may notice low water pressure and discoloration due to rusty water being flushed from the distribution system.

Check the water prior to laundry, cooking, etcetera for a discoloration.

If your water is discolored, turn on your plumbing fixtures for a few minutes until it runs clear.

If there are any questions or concerns, Onsted residents can contact the Onsted Village Office or Jack Dillon, the Department of Public Works Superintendent; and Tecumseh residents should contact the City of Tecumseh Department of Public Works.
