Michigan COVID-19 Update: Monday, April 6th

The state of Michigan updated their COVID-19 numbers for the public this afternoon.

Here are counties of note:

  • The City of Detroit continues to lead the state with 5,023 positive cases and 193 deaths.
  • Wayne County (recorded separately from Detroit) has 3,247 confirmed positive cases and 153 deaths.
  • Another Michigan county with large numbers is Oakland, with 3,380 positive cases and 185 deaths.

Looking at southern Michigan counties:

  • Washtenaw has the highest total in the region, with 539 positive cases and 10 deaths.
  • Monroe County has 117 positive cases and no deaths.
  • Jackson County has reported 103 positive cases and 4 deaths.
  • Hillsdale has 46 cases and 3 deaths.
  • Lenawee has 32 cases with no reported deaths.

As of Monday afternoon, Michigan has 17,221 positive cases of COVID-19, with 727 deaths.
