
This statement was released by Adrian College on Thursday:
“As you know, Adrian College has been closely monitoring the coronavirus outbreak. Governor Gretchen Whitmer declared a state of emergency after two cases were confirmed in Michigan.
Following the recommendations and guidelines from the State of Michigan, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization and other agencies, as of today, Thursday, March 12, 2020, Adrian College will be taking the following actions:
All face-to-face classes are cancelled beginning at noon today through Friday, March 13, 2020. Classes will resume on Monday, March 16 in an online format. Face-to-face classes will resume on Monday, March 30 unless otherwise notified.
– Professors will contact you all by Monday, March 16, explaining how the course will be completed online.
– Please continuously check your Adrian College email account for communication from your professors. Each professor will provide you with information on changes to the course.
– Professors may need to adapt assignments and policies to deliver the course in an online format.
– Students will be expected to complete coursework in accordance with their instructors’ directions.
– Professors conducting science labs or studio work may decide whether to continue to meet or suspend the labs and studio work.
– Students who are in internships or student teaching will continue until further notice. However, Adrian College will defer to the protocol of the business, organization, or school district that the student is studying or working with.
– Dr. Emily Kist, director of the Medical Center, will continue providing regular updates to our community as the situation evolves.
At this time, students, you are still expected to complete your courses by the end of the semester.
