Two Local Events Planned for Human Trafficking Awareness Month

January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month, and January 11th is Human Trafficking Awareness Day.

The Lenawee County Coalition Against Abuse and Trafficking will be hosting two events for January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month. Both events are free and open to the public.

On Thursday, January 23rd, Siena Heights University Professor, Julie Barst, is hosting a book discussion based on human trafficking survivor, Theresa Flores. The discussion will be held at the Adrian District Library in downtown Adrian starting at 6:30 PM.

The following Thursday, January 30th, Theresa Flores will be at Siena Heights University at 7pm to talk about her experiences as a teen-age human trafficking survivor from the Detroit Metro area.
