
A driver sustained minor injuries after leaving a Jackson County roadway and striking a church.
The incident took place at around 8pm Sunday, in Rives Township. Troopers from the Michigan State Police Jackson Post were dispatched to the single vehicle crash off of Cooper Street.
The investigation showed a vehicle traveling south on Cooper Street left the roadway and struck the Zion United Methodist Church.
The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and was transported to Henry Ford Allegiance
Health Hospital. The 22-year-old driver was later arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and driving without an operator’s license.
