The Adrian City Commission continued talks about recreational marijuana businesses at their pre meeting Monday night.

Since the City decided to limit the number of permits they can issue for marijuana retailers, a competitive process must be put in place.

Right now, the four main criteria are: business plan, social equity, land use, and applicant stake-holder history. There are several sub-categories underneath each of the four main criteria… and a big talking point was deciding what those sub-categories should be, and what point values should be assigned to each.

There was also talk among commissioners about upping the number of retail permits from 10 to 12.

Since the outline for the marijuana permit competitive process is still being discussed in pre-meetings of the Adrian City Commission, the public may still give feedback.
