A hit and run crash involving a Vandercook Lake school district bus injured two students in Jackson County.
The crash took place Thursday afternoon at around 3:15pm in Summit Township.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reports that a 25 year old Clark Lake woman, driving a 2005 Buick was backing out of a driveway… into the path of the school bus. The woman then fled the scene of the crash, but was followed by a witness, and was then located.
Two students on the bus… a 11 & 12 year old female… complained of injuries. They were first treated by paramedics and were then turned over to their parents at the scene.
The suspect driver who fled the scene was found responsible and cited for failure to yield and leaving the scene of an injury accident.
