A Lenawee County driver suffered serious, but non-life threatening, injuries after colliding with a garbage truck in Jackson County.

The crash occurred at about 2:40pm Monday in Pulaski Township. The Michigan State Police Jackson Post reports that the crash involved a 35,000-pound garbage truck and a 2000 Dodge Durango.

A press release from the MSP said that the 41-year-old Lenawee County driver was traveling too fast for the conditions on the snow-covered roadway, lost control of his vehicle while navigating a curve, crossed the double yellow center-line, and struck the garbage truck head-on at an unknown speed.

The driver and a passenger of the Durango were transported to Henry Ford Allegiance
Hospital in Jackson with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
