A 32-year-old man driving a Jeep Patriot ran a stop sign and collided with a 20-foot enclosed trailer resulting in serious injuries.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Morey Highway and Beecher Road in Lenawee County’s Dover Township at around 3pm Sunday afternoon.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Monroe Post determined that the Jeep failed to stop at a stop sign, then struck a Chevy Silverado and enclosed trailer. According to a press release, the collision caused the trailer to detach and roll over. The Jeep also rolled over multiple times, and the driver had to be extricated from the vehicle. There were no other passengers in the vehicle.
The injured driver of the Jeep was transported to a Toledo-area hospital and is currently in critical condition. The driver of the Chevy truck was not injured.
Anyone having information regarding this incident should contact Trooper Lance Tedora of the Monroe Post at 734-242-3500.
