A 19-year old man died from his injuries after his vehicle collided with a semi-truck Monday afternoon in Monroe County.
Zachary Zinner, of Newport, was traveling eastbound on Albain Road…failed to yield to oncoming traffic, and was struck by a semi-truck that was traveling southbound on South Dixie Highway.
Zinner who was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel.
The passenger in the vehicle driven by Zinner, an 18-year-old female of Monroe, was transported to a Toledo area Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The semi-truck driver, a 41-year-old
male from Ohio, was transported to ProMedica-Monroe for non-life-threatening injuries.
Neither drugs or alcohol appear to be a factor in the crash. Troopers are requesting anyone with additional information to contact the Michigan State Police Monroe Post at (734) 242-3500.
