
A collaboration between the Lenawee County Road Commission, State of Michigan Government, the Lenawee Community Foundation, and resident interest led to a couple of special ceremonies Thursday morning.
Two stretches of roadway north of the City of Adrian were dedicated in memory of two fallen Michigan State Troopers that died in the line of duty.
Trooper Dugald Pellot was killed by gunfire while attempting to apprehend two subjects who had shot and wounded another trooper in September of 1957. Trooper Pellot’s dedication ceremony was on North Adrian Highway. WLEN News was at the dedication:
The second dedication of the morning was for Trooper Byron Erickson. He died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident during the pursuit of a suspected stolen car in July of 1993. Trooper Erickson’s dedication ceremony was held on Shepherd Road west of M-52. WLEN was there, and captured the highlights:
