A car crashed into a tree late Wednesday night, leaving a dog and cat dead and the driver in serious condition.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Jackson Post are still investigating the crash that occurred on US 12 in Hillsdale County.
The driver, a 24 year old woman from Jonesville, was pinned inside the vehicle and suffered serious injuries.
She had to be extracted from the vehicle and airlifted to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in Jackson County. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by Allen Township Fire Department and Reading EMS.
