On Saturday, April 20th at 1:56am the Adrian Police Department was dispatched to a domestic assault in the 1000 block of W Michigan Ave. During the assault, the suspect fired a single shot into the floor while standing in close proximity to the victim and a small child. Officers arrived within one minute of the call.
A perimeter was established and a knock was attempted. No one answered, but someone was observed looking out the blinds. Due to the presence of a firearm and potential for a hostage situation, we requested assistance from the MSP ES Team to execute a search warrant. MSP negotiators were able to establish TX communication with the suspect but could not confirm his location.
Negotiators convinced the victim to exit the residence with her baby, and both were transported to safety. The subsequent search of the residence revealed the suspect had fled prior to police arrival on the scene. Warrants are being sought and the suspect remains at large.
Anyone with information on this complaint is asked to contact Detective Tim Judkins at 517-264-4808.
